L.T.S- A Youth Movement

History
The "Leadership Training for Service" - L.T.S. was started on july 2nd 1959 at gothal's memorial school- kurseong (W.B). The uniqueness of this movement is that's it's idea was initated by five high school students.
This movement is started in p.t.s in 1978 by Sr. Elsitta the first animator of the unit. At present there are two units
- Senior unit- class ix + x
- Junior unit- class viii

"Leadership Training for Service" - L.T.S. is a youth movement, presenting an ideal a vision for young students which gives direction to their life journey, motivates them to rise above mediocrity and helps them to change themselves in order to change the society. Thus it becomes a way of life for life.
Aims and Objectives
- To develop leadership qualities so that members become "agents of justice": "A person for others".
- Leadership needs training. Therefore the member get training through weekly meetings, study/ orientation days/ summer camps thus developing their personalities.
- Spiritual development - god is at the origin of the universe and of man. He is the driving force behind this movement. Therefore relationship with god is essential for the members which is obtained through personal prayer, short medirefelction prayer meetings.
- A true leader is called to serve and not to be served. Through the activities such are- conducting programmes for rickshaw- puller, neighborhood women.
- Children of non formal school (prabhat tara), - the members learn to serve people.
